Welcome to another edition of This Week In Franchise Marketing on the Bluewater Blog! This Week in Franchise Marketing, we’re talking about Krispy Kreme’s birthday contest, Which Wich going digital with online ordering, and Planet Fitness’ 1,000th club opening.

Krispy Kreme Celebrates 78th Birthday
In June, the Krispy Kreme franchise reaches a big milestone – its 78th birthday. To celebrate, Krispy Kreme is running a contest and one lucky town, city or state will win a Krispy Kreme Pop-up Party. The party includes a custom made pop-up store, paper hats, and free hot Original Glazed doughnuts. Contestants just need to tweet a creative funny video, picture, or shout-out about why your hometown, city, or state should win, using the hasthtag #WinKrispyKreme.

This franchise marketing contest runs from June 8 to June 29, 2015, then Krispy Kreme’s doughnut ambassadors will review and choose the most “original” tweet. Check out Krispy Kreme’s page for official rules and prizes. This contest captures a great way social media is being used in franchise marketing. Sweet tweeting, everyone!

Which Wich Iphone - This Week in Franchise Marketing - BluewaterWhich Wich Goes Digital with Online and Mobile Ordering
Which Which is an award-winning, national fast-casual sandwich restaurant. On June 9th, they launched their new digital online and mobile ordering experience. Which Wich partnered with Olo, the largest digital ordering solutions provider for restaurants, and customers are now able to order through Which Wich’s mobile app or Whichwich.com.

Digital ordering allows Which Wich customers to order and pay for their sandwich digitally. Then at their location of choice, customers can skip the line, grab their order, and be on their way! Planet Fitness Celebrates 1,000th Club with Free Day of Fitness
On Wednesday, Planet Fitness opened their 1,000th fitness club in Washington, D.C. In honor of this achievement, they’re offering a nationwide “Free Day of Fitness” to anyone. On June 11th, Planet Fitness opened their doors to anyone who wanted to workout, no commitment necessary. In addition, social media sweepstakes were also used in their franchise marketing to help celebrate. Facebook fans who commented on Planet Fitness’ posts were entered to win $1,000. Similarly, people who retweeted this Planet Fitness video tweet were also entered:
